Davis Handwriting Class
Small group or "centers" are perfect opportunities for students to explore and improve hand skills in a natural way with peers. Most of the manipulatives commonly found in these classrooms are useful for promoting the skills necessary for letter and word production and increased dexterity skills for pencil manipulation. Here is the basic structure of a handwriting instruction group:
1- Warm up activity (Fine Motor/Gross Motor)
2- Splinter Skills (dexterity, hand strengthening, internal timing)
3- Writing (the Write Right program)
4- Judging Your Work/ Fix it!
5- Data Collection
